Embossing Folders

I am back again. Hope no one fell of their chair because I am posting two days in a row. LOL

Today I have for you how I organized my embossing folders so that I will use them. Yes, I seem to collect them too. But I have to say now that I have organized them I am pulling them out more.

I did have them sorted by themes and had the cards that you see sticking up with names on them. I just left those in there but I have numbered all of the folder with a sharpie. They are stored in a decorative box I purchased from AC Moore it has nice handles on it so it's easy to pick up. I is a bit bigger than a regular photo box. The little border one are in a pouch that was part of the cuttlebug tote that I out grew :-) but works perfect for the border ones. 

Now what I did was cut out tags on my Silhouette cameo you could just cut down cardstock to the size you like and punch a hole. I have numbered each one of the tags to match the folder and have embossed that folder on the tag and they are all on a ring. Now I can just pull the ring out pick the folder I want and grab it out of the box. I do put on the tag if it is an A2 folder or 5x7 just so I will know. 

Here is a little closer shot of the tags. Hope this might inspire you to do this. It has really helped me. I got the idea off of a Facebook group for organizing.

Unmounting lots of stamps. OH MY!

Hi Everyone,

Long time no see. I have been doing lots of things just not posting to my blog only once in a great while because I have been busy with getting organized. Just about a year ago I moved from our finished basement where I had a very large space to an upstairs spare bedroom. I have some pictures on the blog with that going on. I also went through a lot of my craft supplies and sold a ton of stuff that was just sitting around not being used and more than likely wouldn't be used so out they went. I still have a couple of boxes of stuff to sell. I may list it on the blog later. Most of what I have are wood mounted stamps and books. 

Well enough of that. I got around to taking some pictures of some of the stuff that I organized WARNING post is very picture heavy. This first post is what has taken me the longest to complete. My goal was to have it completed by September and I did it. Woo Hoo. So here it goes. The first set of pictures"before" from when I was in the basement. This pictures show the mounted stamps and how I was indexing my unmounteds. Yes I have a lot of stamps. I have been into stamping since 1994 so almost 20 years. You don't even what to know how much money I have in it cause I don't know but believe me I saw some of the price stickers on the stamps as I unmounted and cringed. 

BEFORE ( in old area)

I had 4 big custom stamp shelves over filled with stamps. Oh those shelves don't have any Christmas or Fall stamps on them. You will see what I did with those.

I still have the stamps in cd and dvd cases but I am no longer putting index cards of the images in there. Don't cringe I have a better solution. 

AFTER (in new room)

 Believe it or not this is about 98% of my stamps now. Amazing how much room mounted stamps take up. 

I am loving this. 

A little hard to see but each case is labeled with a category and a number.

Now this is all my Christmas and Fall stamps. Yes I know I have issues. LOL and I just bought another Christmas set yesterday. Oh boy. 12 step program here I come. LOL

Each case is number Christmas or Fall Box 1,2,3 etc. I would say some of these boxes have 30-50 stamps in them.

I don't own a lot of clear stamps but this is what I have and I purchased some of the Avery Elle pockets for stamps and dies.

Now this hasn't changed this is my storage for my Studio G stamps. Baseball card pockets. LOVE IT. The stamps above are my wheel stamps I have umounted. I have an acrylic that fits them perfect but I did keep a couple of the empty wheels if for any reason I may need to put one back on it to use. 

Now I did have some wood mounted stamps that for different reasons I didn't unmount and I have them in a box but it's not very many. 

And now how to I find all the stamps?

Ok on to what I am guessing some are say well how do you know what you have? Yes, this took a lot of time but boy I am so very very please with it and have used it a good number of times already. I decided on what category's worked best for me. The I would stamp out that group on copy paper and put into page protectors (front and back) then the container (box,cd,dvd) would be labeled example Shy Bears DVD 1 and so on. Then on the sheet I would also label it the same so I just look in the catalog see what stamp I want to use then look at the label grab that case or box. I can tell the size or see the detail without have to pull out the case to look for the one I am looking for. So much time was wasted before doing that. 

These binders are I think 3 1/2 binders as you can see I needed two of them. But putting the sheets in the page protectors will really make this last a long time. 

To conclude. My hands were so tired of stamping and my nails were so ink stained it took weeks for me to get them back to normal. Would I want to do it all over again? Hell NO. Was it worth it? Oh very much so. 

I will have a couple more organizing posts in the coming days. I can say I have been stamping again and started making my holiday cards and loving it.

Witching Halloween

Hi Everyone,

I know it has been a good while since I posted. I have finally finished unmounting and cataloging all my stamps. This was no small task. I have been stamping and buy um I mean collecting stamps since 1994 so I had some tired fingers and hand unmounting them. Then I stamped all of them and cataloged them. I will take pictures later and post. I am so glad that it is done. I feel really good about it. I have used the catalog a good bit already. Woo hoo, all not for nothing. LOL

Ok today I have a card for you that is for the Facebook Challenge over at Simply Betty. She offered this fantastic digi for us to use. I love halloween almost as much as Christmas when it comes to card making. 

Sorry the pictures just didn't seem to come out too well. She was so fun to color. She is colored with my Copics. I must say though I don't normally color black hair because I just don't feel I am very good at it. 

I made a stair step card because I wanted to use so many of my cameo files to add to this one. I think I put everything but the kitchen sink on this one. The stair step card is one that I designed on my cameo and is free for any Silhouette cameo owners. The little ticket stamp is one I picked up at Michaels what is now the $1.50 bin. I love it. I have embossed it with a purple pearl shimmer embossing powder. The decorative paper has been distressed with black ink all around the edges

Her fingernails have black Atyou glitter pen on them. Thought that was perfect. I also used Stampin Ups Heat and stick powder on the corner spider web flourish and then added black glitter. I have to say Stampin Up's heat and stick is the only powder I have every had perfect results with when it comes to heat and stick.

Speech Bubble using Silhouette Cameo

Hi there Everyone,

Nope didn't fall of the face of the earth just taking a bit of a break to get things in my craft studio organized some. Just got the Avery Elle pockets in today and got all my dies and clear stamps sets in them. Just need to label them. I am shocked to see how much less room they take up. Yay... great buy.

Yes the card you are seeing was on here before but I have been wanting to make a video on creating the speech bubble and finally got around to do it. I had tried twice before. Now my phone never ring because of using texting or email that sort of stuff but don't you know both times I started this video the phone rings. Finally the third time was a charm. So below the card is the You Tube video showing you how to make your own speech bubble using the Silhouette Cameo. 

Oh and don't forget to keep your little cut outs of the words to use on something else. That is what I did with the word fun. I made a speech bubble and used the word FUN for this card.

Bad to the Gills

Hello again,

Two days in a row. Mark this on the calendar. LOL

Ok, a few weeks ago I won a challenge over at Digi Galore (thanks ladies) and the prize was images from Simply Betty. I had seen some projects done using the stamps but never really had the chance to check them out. Well I have to say boy did I have a hard time picking out what I wanted for the prize. LOL Of course I went back and purchased the other that were on the wish list. So that lead me to find Simply Betty's facebook group. Wow, lots of fun activity there. She was having a give away for an image but you had to use it in the challenge. You got to pick good or evil of the mermaids. At first I picked good but change it real quick to evil. I thought Oh I am going with something different. 

I had so much fun coloring this and giving it a little bit of evil. Although I think she looks more a little more on the evil seductive side. LOL 

I have colored her with my copics. But I thought she need more so I added distress stickles to her scales. I love stickles. I think it is one of my favorite ways to dress up a card. 

Because I wanted this to have a lot of dimension I need seaweed. Ok so I check my cut files. Nah nothing.So I looked at what I had in my stash. Ok opened a bag of Christmas florals that I bought a couple of years ago. So I pulled of two piece of what was shiny silver. Broke out my air compressor for my copics and had at it. Boom they matched. Yay. 

The verse also came with the digi image and it so perfect. I thought the paper went well with it cause the distressed look kind of reminds me of bubbles . Ok I have went on long enough. Hope everyone has had a nice weekend. Are you staying cool where you are? 

Today I have a card for you that is for a special friend. I am using another one of Sassy Cheryl's adorable images. I just love here images. Going to purchase another one here shortly. So look out another one coming up. LOL

She is colored with my Copics. Of course she is cut out using my cameo along with her mat she is one. The heart banner is also a cut file. I added stickle hearts inside of the little hearts. The hearts that are scatter around are the pieces from the cut file with some glossy accents on them. She also has some stickles on the bottom of her dress as well. I love stickles. LOL

She has a little pink pearl on her flower. The Hello Friend stamp is one of my favs from Michaels $1 bin. 

I have a couple more cards to post throughout the week. I got time to sit down and create this week.

I was going to post this yesterday but they day got away from me and next thing I knew it was after midnight. So I thought I would play the "day late dollar short" card. LOL

I have a Sassy Cheryl card(s) to share with you today. 

I thought these were such adorable images.You can get them here. You can buy them as a group or each one by them self. 

I colored these with my copics. Isn't that flag so perfect they way it is waving in the wind. 

I added the clouds with my copic BG000 and template I have from Rosie's Roadshow. I love it. 

The "Happy" I cut out with my Cameo. The July 4th is a Studio G stamp. The punches I used for punching it out are from Stampin Up. Some red,white and blue bakers twine of course perfect for it. Not to mention the red, clear and blue star rhinestones. 

I tried something a little different with her little shirt. I gave it a "watercolor" look.

Did you notice the little lady bugs on each of them. Too cute.

Summer Fun

Hello all,

How is everyone holding out now that summer is officially here in the states. It has been a hot week so far where I am. And rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast for the next week. Guess not much floating on an swim ring around here much. But don't you just love this cute Sassy Cheryl image. She is so ready for a nice hot summer day.

I have colored her with my copics. I air brushed the water then added waterfall stickles to it for a little sparkle. The sky is created with a template I have and BG-000.I have a little bit of everything happening on this card. My papers are digi papers from Sherry K. The flip flops are a "charm" silhouette cut file. I added some cute flower bling I have had for years to the straps. I remember as a kid you could get those rubber flip flops with the big flowers on them. 

The "summer" speech bubble I created on my cameo super easy. I also cut the words "FUN" out to add. See a lot going on. Of course since she has some cute blinged flip flops I had to give her swim suit some sparkle bling too with cotton candy stickles. Her swim ring was given polka dots using a white sharpie. And I couldn't not add some pearls to match. LOL

I had fun creating this card. Sassy Cheryl creates some really fun images to work with.. 

Of course as a kid I would always end up with pink cheeks from the sun so I had to add a bit more pink on her cheeks even added a bit on her arms and legs.

Hello everyone,

I hope your week is off to a good start. I am a real set of cuties for you today as well as a new Cameo video. I got these image a while back from Sassy Cheryls. I am not a big Disney fan but I just loved these images. I found some other Disney items to go with them.

I have colored this little cuties with my copics. They have been cut out using my Cameo. The frame behind them was one that was designed by a member of a FB group I am on with the cameo. I offset the frame so that I could do red and black. See below for my video I made on how to make mats for you digi images on your Cameo. 

I found the little Mickey ears "pearls" online from Joann's they were perfect. 

The funny thing is the little verse "let the magic begin" I found in my rubber stamp while going through some of them to put up for sale. How perfect is that verse for these images. I also scattered a few black pearls on the card to give a little more balance. 

Can you just see this card as a birthday card or to put with a gift of a Disney movie or better yet tickets to one of the Disney Theme parks for Summer Vacation. I am going to put this one up in my Etsy shop. I hope you have enjoy the card as much as I did making it. It just came together very well.
