Fall

Hello Everyone,

I do believe fall is upon us. Finally! This card is done with Mo's image Young Love. I love this image. I added a little autumn flower soft for color. The background paper is Apple Cider by Imaginisce. I punched out the leaves and added Pebbles Metallic Cream Chalks to them. The punches are old punches that I had but I used my Power Punch by Punch Bunch . Boy does it make it much easier to punch when you have older stiffer punches. A good friend gave it to me as a Christmas gift and I would not give it up for anything.

I am still working with Copic's I think I am getting the hang of them a little more each time I use them.

I know there are not normally bluebirds out in the fall but I just thought they would add color rather than the gray birds that are mostly around now.

Magnolia fold card

Here is my card for the All That Scraps 3rd Magnolia Challenge. The apple barrel opens and has the word HI inside done with glitter stickers. I am very new to using and building my collection of Copic Markers. This one I went with some more shadowing.

The background paper is Apple Cider by Imaginisce as well as the apple barrel stamp.

Second attempt at Copics

Happy Friday Everyone,

Here is my second attempt at using Copic markers. I think I did better with this one. Baby steps. But I have to say I am enjoying working with them. I will admit I was a skeptical about them but my favorite thing about them is that even after coloring over your image you can still see the stamp details that just didn't happen with the Tombows or Marvey's

This is a Magnolia stamp. Rick said where's the mouth? LOL

I am happy with how the card came out. I even colored my pearls with the copics to match the card.

First attempt at Copic Markers

Happy Fall Weather Everyone,

I took a Copic class that Suzanne Dean was teaching on Saturday. Wow, I have a lot to practice. Suzanne is a wonderful teacher and boy is she good at making those markers do magic.

Here is my first attempt at working with them on my own. This is not the best paper to be working on but I don't think I did to bad. It will take practice as did all of the other stamping mediums I have worked with. Reds are one of the harder colors to work with.

Don't look too close you will find my mistakes ;-)

Calendar Book

I was inspired by another blogger Robyn from Injoy Stampin. Mine is a bit different but I like the way it came out. Her web site it here http://injoystampin.com/2010/09/prima-annalee-mini-calendar/ I used basic grays Indian Summer papers. The calendar was printed from an internet site and cut into the squares. All of the embellishments were items that I have had for years. Hope you enjoy it.

Mo's Digital Pencil Too Challenge

I did this card for the Mo's Challenge this week Special Folds and Flowers. This is a calendar card that I use to teach about 10 years ago at a local stamp store that is no longer here. This card makes a great holiday gift for co-workers. They will be reminded all year of your thoughtfulness as they display it on their desk. Mo's image "Fall Kitten" is really cute on the front of the cover. Scroll down to see the full calendar.

I haven't used my Tombow makers in a long time but broke them out for this. I like the way the fur looks on the kitten.

Dryer Sheet Technique Tutorial

Dryer Sheet Technique

Items needed for project:

Used dryer sheet

Various cardstock for your card and ribbon (optional)

Dazzling Diamonds glitter or one like it

A printed digi image (you can also use a rubber stamped image)

Type of adhesive such as Xyron, glue stick, double sided adhesive sheets or spray adhesive

This is a very simple technique to do. I will show three different adhesives used. The glue stick, double sided adhesive and Xyron.

Glue Stick

1. 
   

   1. Cut your used dryer sheet about ¼ inch bigger than you stamp image.

   2. You will take your printed or stamped image and cover the entire surface (the image side) with glue stick. Make sure you get all the way to the edges.

   3. Carefully lay your dryer sheet over the glue and smooth down. It might be a little bumpy in spots but that is ok because it just gives it more dimensions.

   4. Now turn you image over and adhere the extra to the back of the cardstock (you can cut the extra off but this gives it a more finished look).

I used a double sided tape so that is would show up in the picture. You can just use the glue stick as well.

This is what is should look like after you have either trimmed or adhered the excess to the back.

5. Turn you image back over and sprinkle the glitter over the entire image and tap excess off. I use a coffee filter to catch excess glitter for reuse.

This is where the real beauty shows. Got to love glitter!

Next up : Double sided adhesive sheet. You will notice that it has a slight tint and relatively even. Some may like this look. I used one call Therm O Web for my double sided adhesive.

Double sided adhesive sheet

Apply the double sided adhesive sheet over your image and cut down to size. Once this is complete peel to expose your adhesive then follow steps 3, 4 and 5 from Glue Stick method.

Next Up: Xyron

Xyron

Run your image through your Xyron machine. Make sure you put your image through the Xyron upside down so that the adhesive will be on the front of the image Once this is complete peel to expose your adhesive then follow steps 3, 4 and 5 from Glue Stick method.

You will notice that this is similar to the Glue stick method as far as appearance.

Here is a shot of all three methods I used here for you to compare.

The next part is up to your creativity, putting a card together. I have photos of each method used with my card design. I think a snow scene or a stained glass image would look really nice using this technique.

I hope you enjoyed this and that it will inspire you to try making cards and projects using this technique. I know that this goes back a number of years but seems to have resurfaced again. As they say,”something old is new again”.

Brown Challenge

This is for Mo's Digital Pencil Too weekly challenge. This week was a card in browns. I love brown. It just reminds me of fall and that is my favorite time of year.

Okay, this one was just a digi that I had printed and then thought oh what the heck. Came out pretty cute if I say so myself.

Dryer Sheet Technique

This is done using Stampin Up stamps. I used a dryer sheet over the images using a glue stick and then sprinkled glitter on to the while the glue is still wet.

This is the same technique just done with fall colors.

Just some cards with bling

This was just a last minute card I wanted to try out. I added the bling to her jeans.

This one is kind of hard to see but I have little pearls going around the window and some rhinestones on the plastic window.

Mo's Digital Pencil Too Challenge

I made this card for Mo's Challenge " Thank Heaven for Little Girls" I used some old background papers that I have had for ages. The spider web punch is a Martha Stewart punch. The brads and ribbon are from Big Lots and the Dollar Tree.

Stamping Boutique

These cards are made using Stamping Boutique (http://thestampingboutique.com) digital images. These cards are done with the same image but yet they are different. This bunny is really cute and Stamping Boutique was so kind to offer this image free for the asking.

The cake frosting is done using puff paint. I applied it to the cake then let dry and heat. I have been challenging myself to using some old goodies that I have been holding on to. The Happy Birthday was computer generated. The background paper is from a package that I purchased at Big Lots. I believe it said Provo Craft on the back. Colored using colored pencils and gamsol.

A couple of rhinestones were added to give a little sparkle.

This one the icing is done using glitter and added some small pearls to the cake. Also some rhinestones were used around the image. The Happy Birthday was computer generated. The background is done with a cuttlebug folder. The image was cut using a Spellbinders die.

The little pearls came out in the picture. I was surprised.
