Glitter Trees

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. It was beautiful here. But today not so much. It is pouring rain today. It's one of those days you just want to cozy up with a good book.

Today I have a card I made a little more of non traditional Christmas colors. This would be a great Christmas card to give a man.

This card I broke out some more of my old stamps and supplies. I have really been having fun doing that. I feel like I go shopping every time I do it.

The stamp is one that was a two piece set I got from a vendor at the Ocean City convention a few years back called Stacy's Stamps , the stamp is called The Woods. This was one stamp the other a bare birch tree.

I used Stampin Up's Heat and Stick embossing powder and AIG Brown Glitter. I thought it came out really well. The card is a kraft base as well as the layer the glittered trees are on. The paper I used is from Basic Grey's Jovial collection. I added a brown satin ribbon and a few brown pearls.

I hope you enjoyed my card. I am entering it in the following challenges

Tuesday throwdown - A Masculine Holiday card

Crafty Card Makers - Heat embossing

The Ribbon Real - Anything Goes with a ribbon

Also, have you heard Suzanne Dean's has just opened up class number 5 on her Color Me Creative Classroom site. Lots of new techniques. 18 videos some as long as 40 minutes plus PDF's to go with it. Stop over and check it out. If you are just starting she has 4 other classes to get you going. She has been working hard to get this one together.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look. Hope you have a great day.

Cozying up with Gilli !

Hello there,

anaRy creator of Gilli Stamps asked if I would mind filling at The House of Gilli for Dionne for the next couple of challenges while she is moving. I am very happy to do so.

The House of Gilli has some pretty fun challenges coming up for you. Are you excited? Did OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAanyone go out shopping on “Black Friday”? Are you all rested up ready for the challenge? I sure hope so.

This challenge is to create a project using flourishes within the project.

I am using Cozy Gilli for my card. I have colored her with my copics. Can’t you just see her lounging on the rug in front of a roaring fire with a hot cup of coco?

The papers I used are from the My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found Christmas Collection as well as a Fancy Pants Designs Saint Nick Collection

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I cut the bottom of the card with a Paper Trey Ink die and added a little bit of a white gel pen stitch to make it show up a little more.

My Flourishes were made with my Slice. I tried to match up some of the flourishes that are in the paper. I also added a chipboard star and some red hearts that I punched out to the area on the papers that had this design. I put them on foam OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAdots to give the card a little dimension. The little “ Happy Holidays” stamp is a Studio G set I picked up at my local Walmart. The ribbon is some that I had in my collection.

I sure hope that you have been checking out the other beautiful cards that the Gilli DT’s have been posting. They sure are inspiring. I hope that you will join in on this challenge and let your creative side shine. Thanks for stopping by, see you soon.

Anything Goes - Outlawz Friday Challenge

Hi There Everyone,

Have you already hit the stores today for Black Friday? I saw that many were opening at midnight Thankgiving night. Wow, that is crazy, but if you are the bargain hunter more power to you. Me I do all my shopping before Black Friday and then order online if I need something. I gave up after one store was giving gift certificates away to the first 50 customers.... well I was number 51.... knew it was time to stop shopping on Black Friday. LOL. I still have fun sitting up and shopping on line.

Ok on to this weeks theme. It's an easy one. Anything goes.... as long as it new and colored with Copic/Pro Marker and not back linked you are good to go.

My card is a Christmas card. The image is my Tickled Pink. Isn't she pretty? Colored with my Copics of course. I kept it simple.

I added a little seam binding, punch border and a small greeting.

I loved coloring this one. I have really been getting into coloring folds and ruffles.

The paper is Authentique Wonder collection.

I hope you like the card this week and will head over to The Outlawz and join in on the fun. At least it doesn't cost you anything other than your time and card.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

GOTH - Friday's Outlawz Challenge

Happy Friday,

Are you glad it is the weekend? Time to start planning that Thankgiving menu out. Am I pushing it or what?

Ok enough about that. The challenge over at The Outlawz is a different one. This weeks theme is Goth. Boy was this a real challenge for me. I don't think I have ever encounter anyone that is "goth" in real life. This one took me a while. I think I pulled it off. Well at least it looks like some of the pictures I found when I googled Goth. LOL

My image is one of Sureya images that she puts out there for you to use. She is very generous doing this. I really didn't have any images that "fit" Goth and since I have discovered I am not fond of it I didn't want to purchase anything. If anyone is interested I have the link on her name. Make sure you thank her for her images.

I have colored her with my Copics and in the grey/black family.

I layered "spider web" from the dollar store over the black and gray card stock to look like torn fishnet stockings which seemed to be a theme in many of the pictures I googled. LOL The chain is from an old ID badge that I through in a box and thought one day I will have use for it.

Thank goodness for google because I googled goth sayings and this was one that came up. Thought it was kind of cute.

I hope you jump in and give this challenge a try. Just remember you must use Copic/Pro Marker on your image. The project must be new and no back linking. Stop on over at The Outlawz and see the other Goth inspiration that my fellow DT's have come up with.

Thanks for stopping by.

Angel Gilli

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hi There,

I am back with my project as guest designer. This is my take on the monochromatic theme this week.

I am using Angel Gilli for my card. Isn’t she pretty. This is the second time that I have used Angel Gilli and I love coloring here. anaRy has desOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAigned her so that you can create pleats in her gown if you like. Coloring pleats and folds are one of my favorite types of coloring at the moment. I kept the card more on the simple side because I didn’t want to take away from Angel Gilli’s beauty. She is colored in the earth tones of copics.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The papers are from My Minds Eye Lost and Found Christmas collection. I love this collection of papers it is muted but yet with very pretty designs. I have also added a few brown pearls and brown satin ribbon to finish it off. I hope that you will jump in and give the monochromatic challenge a try.

I also want to take a moment to thank anaRy again for inviting me to be a guest designer. This has been fun.

Thanks - Outlawz Friday Challenge

Hi there,
Hope everyone had a great week. Can you believe that it is November all ready. Good grief next thing you know it will be Thanksgiving. Guess I better starting watching for the turkey's in the store.

Well it's Friday at the means the Friday Copic/Pro Maker challenge over at The Outlawz.
This weeks theme is Thanks. What does that mean? Well think Thanksgiving, things that you are thankful for. Just remember your image must be colored using Copic or Pro Markers. The project must be new and no back linking. Have you checked out the awesome prizes from our equally awesome sponsors?

My card this time around is one that I dug an old stamp out and dusted it off. I had purchased this stamp years ago long before the Copic markers made it big in the stamp world. I kept looking at this stamp wishing I could come up with a great way to color it without losing the details of the stamp.

Well with the Copic markers you can. I was very happy with how this came out. I wanted to keep it simple so no DP for this one just some solid colored layers and Happy Thanksgiving.

I masked of the edge of the cardstock and sponged on with some versa color ink to soften it.

I hope you liked my card today and that you will join in on the challenge this week at The Outlawz

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi there,

I have wonderful news. I was asked to become a member of the Design Team for Through the Craftroom Door Magazine. This is a crafting magazine published by Suzanne Dean and Marti Wills. They have two challenges a month. You should stop over and join in on the fun.

For my first project I am using a digi image from Karber. They are also the sponsor for this challenge. The prize for the winner will be three of their images, winners choice.

The theme is "Fall" in Love, must have leaves and use the color brown or tan or kraft.

I have colored my image with my Copics. I added some stickles to her wings and star on her wand.

I also added some punched leaves and a die cut leaf branch.
The papers are Bo Bunny Forever Fall collection.

I hope you have enjoy my card and will stop over and join in on the fun at TTCRD.

She's an Angel

Hi there,

I am back again. Hope your day is going well. I was able to finish another card today. This one is another Gilli stamp :-). She is for the challenge over at CMC Bookendz. You needed to create a card based on the book read for the month which is The Mercy of Thin Air.

I have colored her with my copics in BV 01 and BV 02 and used my colorless blender to give her dress a more shear look.

Her wings got the stickles treatment. I have added some pretty pearls and some charms I created using shrink plastic and embossing power with my CC Designs die. A pretty white satin ribbon to set it off.

The papers are from Heidi Grace Designs and Deja Views.
I hope you will stop over to the CMC site as well as the Bookendz group and check out the challenges there.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

House of Gilli Guest Designer

Hi There Everyone,

I was thrilled when anaRy asked me to be a guest designer over at The House of Gilli. anaRy is the designer of these cute images. Gilli just recently celebrated her 1st birthday. anaRy designs Gilli to be used in many different ways. She draws the images so that you can add your own creativity. I think that is one of the things that first caught my eye. She also is very passionate about the quality of the stamps and that they are made in the USA.

Gilli was invited to a party and was able to walk down the red carpet.

The challenge for The House of Gilli is to use texture and something recycled.

I created texture with my cuttlebug embossing folder for the layer at the bottom of the card and on the lenses of the camera.

The recycled items are were items that was used in a note that was sent to me. The bakers twine and the Gilli postage stamps.

I hope that you stop by The House of Gilli and join in the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today.
