Summer Dreams

Happy Wednesday,

Hope everyone has had a great week so far. It's been kind of a busy week so far. Hey but it's a long weekend for most people in the US. Happy 4th of July everyone.

Well I found another digi stamp company that I am really liking their images. Make it Crafty, they are celebrating their 1 year anniversary. Happy Anniversary Make it Crafty. I came across this from a blog that I follow that had mentioned the anniversary and that they were having a sale on digi stamps. Well hello, I am there. LOL. Boy was I in shopping heaven. They have some great images as well as buying them in collections to make scenes with them.

So while I was on their blog reading about their anniversary celebration there was a spot to sign up for the newsletter for their digi stamps. Ok, so signed up. Well I was bad (but worked out to be good) I didn't read everything including the part that told you that if you sign up they will need you one of their newest images Zoe Celebrates. Well you can image how excited I was getting another image and one that I had thought about purchasing. LOL. So if you haven't already, take a look at their blog and store. Oh and don't forget to sign up for the newsletter.

Now on to my card. This card is for the challenge over at the CMC site. The challenge is coloring folds, pleats and/or ruffles. I thought this image fit the bill perfectly. Her dress has some fold/pleats and don't you just love the way the artist has drawn the hair.

I have colored her with copics. The DP is by K and Company Sweet Nectar collection.

A couple of swirls were cut with my Slice and coated with Stardust Stickles.
I added some Iridescent Metallic Cord that I purchased from Stamp By Step 10 yard for 59 cents I didn't think that was bad at all. She has gold and silver too.

Well I really had fun making this card. I can't wait to try my other Make it Crafty images. So watch out. LOL I think I wrote a book today. Don't forget to be sure and stop by Make it Crafty and sign up for the newsletter. If you like to color hair you will love the image that they send you.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a good day.

Summer Fun Happening

Hi There Everyone,

Is everyone having a nice weekend? I hope so. So far so good here. Went and purchased some nice fresh produce at our local farmers market this morning. It is always nice to have some fresh fruit and veggies in the house.

The official start of summer happened on Tuesday although it has felt like August here for about a month now. Don't anyone hate me but I am ready for fall. LOL

Ok on to my card.

This super cute image is from The Paper Shelter. They are becoming one of my favorite digi stamp companies. This little girl is called Sunny Day. I love the little drink with the umbrella in it.

I have colored her with my Copic markers. I added a little glitter with my atyou Spica pen. I used a cloud template to give some soft clouds behind her.

The "Enjoy" stamp is a Studio G stamp and the "Summer" is from Targets $1 bin. So I combined them together on the card to say Enjoy Summer. OK maybe I am stretching it a bit. LOL But you get what I was going for.

The Designer Papers are from the Citronella collection by K and Company. This is really a fun collection to use for the summer/beach/vacation type of card.

It seems everyone has the same idea about a fun summer card this week for the challenges so I have a number of them I am entering this card for.

Please stop the sites and their sponsors when you have a minute. There are so many wonderful card and vendors out their.

Comfort Zone!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by.

My card today is way out of my comfort zone. I don't normally do cards like this one. I guess you would call it shabby vintage look. LOL I am not a "tag" person. I like them on other peoples work just not mine.

So you are asking why did you do it then. This card is for Mo's challenge this week. I always like to at least try. The challenge this week was to use a tag.

I made the tag. I broke out some old Fiskars Corner Edgers Scissors. Anyone remember them? Before all the fancy punches and die cutter. In case you are wondering why I keep using old stuff that was my New Years challenge to myself to try and use something that I have had for a while.
While it won't stop me from getting new stuff I will think twice about getting something that will do the same thing as something I already have. So then I can spend that money on something else. LOL

OK about the card other than the tag. I have colored the image with Copics. Added some flowers and lace. I used distressed tea dye ink on the card and the faintly stamp background.

A little Stickles to give it a little sparkle. Can't give up everything. ;-)

Have a great evening.

Swinging with a friend

Happy Monday,

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Was kind of a busy weekend around here.

My card today is using a digital image from the Paper Shelter. They keep adding new ones just about every time I look at the site. I grabbed this sweet image as soon as I saw it. Look at all that hair to color :-) That little bird reminded of one in a Disney movie.

I have colored the image with my Copics. I used an old All Night Media template for making the clouds in the background. The papers are from Prima.

I added a little Star Dust Stickles to her hair bow. A little seam binding for the ribbon and bow.

I am entering this card in two challenges today.

The Paper Shelter challenge. You needed to use punches or die cuts. My circles are done using my die cuts and Cuttlebug.

The other challenge is over at the CMC site. This challenge was to color brunette hair.

Thanks for stopping by. I will post another card tomorrow.

Books are friends too!

Happy Wednesday,

Today's card is made using one of Mo Manning's digi images. I like this image, she just looks happy to be sitting there enjoying her book.

I am entering this card in the weekly challenge at Mo's. The challenge was "A recipe for friendship". You needed to use one element in the recipe. I chose friend/love.

I found this quote about books being your friend. I thought of Mo's image and this quote as a different way to look at friendship.

Many people value their books as friends. They keep them company when there is no one else, they make you laugh just when you need a good laugh. Well I think you get what I am saying.

I wanted to do a little different take on this challenge. It's a simple card but I like the way it came out. She is colored with my Copics. Three black pearls were added.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look.

Have a great day.

Lil Victorian Steampunk Lolita Evie

Hi Again Everyone,

This is my second post for today. Hope you don't mind.

This card I have done for two challenges this week. This digi image is by Tickled Pink Stamps. She is called Li Victorian Steampunk Lolita Evie. Wow that is a mouth full. LOL. Kellie from Tickled Pink Stamps posted the first 50 people to email her could have their choice of a digi image. I was one of the lucky ones. Thank you Kellie it was very kind of you to have such a nice giveaway.

I had fun coloring her with my copics. She kind of Scarlet O'Haraish... :-)

The DP is by Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection. This collection is beautiful.
The corner is a Cuttlebug die and I used one of the inside pieces for the other corner.

The cream flowers are from I am Roses and the green are some ribbon roses I have had for years. A little bit of Stickles was used on the large flowers. A Martha Stewart punch was used to make the "leaves".

I am entering this in the following challenges

Tickled Pink Challenge # 23. Texture (flowers)

Suzanne Dean's CMC challenge #20 coloring brunette hair

I am really happy with how my card came out. I can see this image being done as a Victorian Christmas lady as well.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my second post today.

Thinking on a Summer Day

Hi There,

This was a quick card I did for the POM Summer Fun Challenge over at the Outlawz.
The challenge was to create something with a summer theme. I went with a peaceful walk.

The image is a Stampin Up image. I have colored with Prisma colored pencils and gamsol. It's been a while since I broke them out and used them for the whole image.

Added a little ribbon and a Studio G stamp the Enjoy in the lower corner.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look.

Happy Birthday

Happy Monday Everyone,

Hope you had a nice weekend. Got a lot done this weekend including this card. I am pretty happy with how it came out.

The image is by The Paper Shelter. They have some really cute images. This card is for their challenge this week. The card needed to be a Celebration Theme of some kind. I went with the birthday theme.

I colored everything with my copics. The swirls are cut from my Slice with some Stickles added to them.

The confetti on the cupcakes have liquid pearls added to them. Glitter pen was added to the flame and bow.

I have to say after I finished making this card I really wanted a cupcake LOL

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.

Have a good day.

All American Feathers!

Happy Wednesday,

It's been a nice week so far. Hope everyone is having a good week.

My card today is for the challenge over at CMC. The challenged called for use of feathers or feather stroke coloring.

I don't have a lot of images in my collection with birds or feathers. But found this older stamp. It's and unmounted stamp and I am not even sure who makes or made the stamp.

With 4th of July coming up I thought this would be a good card for it. I used my cuttlebug folders and a small verse from a Studio G set.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look.

Making Wishes

Happy Monday Everyone,

I hope you had a great weekend. I was able to find some flowers and get them all planted this weekend. Now I have to remember I need to go out and water them each evening since we are not getting much rain.

My card today is using a Wee Stamps image called Dandelion Girl. Yes I know we work hard to keep the dandelions out of our yard. I am unofficially calling her Making Wishes Girl. LOL Just kidding.

She is really a cute images as all of theirs are. I have colored her using my copics.

I used chalks to make a light colored sky and grass area then used a really old Stampin Up stamp to added some grass highlights. I made her pigtail 3-D. A little bit of stickles around her hair band and the ruffle of her dress to give it a little sparkle.

The papers I used were X-press for the image and K and Company Sweet Nectar collection. The punch border is a Martha Stewart punch. A few brads from my collection for a little something extra.

The layout is an older sketch (SC240) from SCS.

I am entering this card into The Outlawz June 3rd Copic/Promarker challenge. The challenge was to use the colors pink and green. My green is subtle in different places. A girl just needs her pink. LOL

Thanks for coming by today.

My card I have today is one that I completed for DP2 challenge. This challenge was a sketch. This little girl is one of Mo's digital images.

The has been colored with my Copics.

The papers are from Stampin Up. Sorry can't remember the name of the collection. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves are from I am Roses.

A few Stickles were added to the flowers for a little sparkle.

Silver Fairy

Happy Friday Everyone,

At least the weekend is here. Nothing special planned here just relax and create, oh and maybe go plant shopping. LOL

Todays card I am very happy with. I love this image. I just bought a few from Wee Stamps. Their images are so cute. This one is called Silver Fairy and she is just adorable.

I have colored her with my Copic markers. Using my blender pen to create the sheer look. The papers are from the Watercolor collection by K and Company.

Stickles were added to parts of her wings to give it a whimsical look.

The layout is a sketch from Deconstructing Jen. I am entering my card in week #4 sketch challenge. If you haven't already checked her blog out you should. Jen's work is amazing.

Congratulations Graduate!

Hi there,

Just a quick post today. This is a card that I have made for my nephews graduation.

This is a digi stamp by Floppy Latte Designs they have some cute images as well as digi papers too. The Congratulations Graduate is a small set from the dollar bin at A. C. Moore.

The image is colored with my Copics.

The top of the cap, bow and tassel are 3-D.

I used a black brad for the top of the cap. I am very happy with the way this card came out. The inside is personalized for him.
