Back to School Time

Hi Again,

Yes, it is getting to be that time of year. I have heard a number of people talking about back to school shopping. Heck Staples has been having their back to school sale for a good month now.
All the parents are jumping for joy and the kids are mopping around. Not looking forward to the buses riding about but can't wait for the fall weather to hit. That is if we ever get a fall.

Here is my tribute to all those kids going back to school.

This was the Monday challenge at The Outlawz today. You needed to create something with a school theme and it also has to include a greeting. Mine is computer generated I thought it fit.

The image is a Kenny K digi. This is one kid that looks happy to return to school.

What to you think of my little pencils. I made some of these years ago and thought I would try again. So easy just toothpicks. This "Cool Kid" is colored with my Copics. The paper is from a DCWV mini stack. It has #3 on it. I have had it for a while now. It's a never ending pack there are 180 6x6 sheets in the pack.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look around today.

Clean and Simple but Bold

Hello there,

Hope every one's Monday is starting off well. Here is a "Sun" shiny card. Get it play on the word sun. OK, comedian I am not that is for sure. Card maker yes. I can do that.

My card today is simple but bright and cheery. At least that is what I was going for.
Again I dug out some old stamps from a company called DOTS which is now CTMH. I am going to guess these stamps are from 1995 or there abouts.

I colored the images with Copics. I even did a little masking.

I added some stickles to the centers of the flowers more for the texture than the sparkle. But one can never have too much sparkle.

I made this card to enter into the Sunday Clean and Simple challenge over at The Outlawz. You could do anything as long as it was bold in nature.

Hope you have enjoyed my card.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Sparkling Blue Dress Diva

Happy Sunday All,

I am still floating on a cloud at the news that I won over at The Outlawz. WOO HOO. Happy Camper here.

My card today is done with an image from Sureya. Isn't she pretty. This is for a challenge over at The Outlawz Saturday Paper a la Mode. The challenge this week was to create anything with sparkles.

I took about 15 pictures of this card and could not get a really good shots of the sparkles.

I have colored her with my copics. I have added clear Atyou Spica Pen to the dress and shoes.

I added some small rhinestones to her bracelet and necklace. Also blue and clear rhinestones are all around her.

I have layered the image on to blue and silver stardream cardstock.
I stamped the French Flair stamp by Stampin Up and embossed in a silver sparkle embossing powder.

This picture shows the sparkles on the dress a little better.

Thanks for stopping by today.

The Outlawz

Hi there,

I have to tell you I am so excited today. I just found out that I won a $50 gift certificate to Oozak.com from The Outlawz. Wow, I just kept sitting there staring at the screen. I guess I was just making sure that it was my name that was there. LOL. And if that was not a great piece of news I also won 3 digi stamps from the wonderful artist Anne Fenton of Anne's Digital Designs. So I was really fortunate to be part of a fantastic group.

The Outlawz has the best group of members and DT's. They have a challenge each day of the week. I will tell you that they have really helped up my MOJO. And I have been pulling out old techniques and stamps and putting them to use.

Thank you to a wonderful group . If you haven't checked them out before you should do so. The Outlawz

Sending you Smiles

Happy Friday,

It is here finally. Everyone ready for the weekend. I know I am.

I finally made a card with this pop up template. I guess that is what you would call it. LOL

This week you needed to create something that was in your country's flag colors. I was trying to come up with something a little different. I hope I have done that. With the USA color combo it is hard not to think of things like fireworks, forth of July celebrations, etc. I wanted to challenge myself to not make it too much like a forth of July card.

This is another Peekers stamp from the collections. To me she looks like she is thinking hard as to what to get into.

I have colored her with my Copics. I masked her off and stamped the grass in. I also tried making my clouds different. I watched a video that Jan Hunnicutt put out on how she does her clouds. They look so pretty. I guess it is my picture taking because you can hardly see them. They look perfect on the card in person. I guess I could go a little darker. If you click on Jan's name it will take you to her video.

I really hope that Elisabeth Bell will come out with a "winter" theme series of the Peekers. I think that would be so cute.

A big THANK YOU for all the wonderful comments that you leave me. I appreciate them so much.

I am leaving you with something that my sister in law sent. If you are a person who texts or even someone who does chats or instant messaging you might get a laugh out of this.

MIDDLE AGE TEXTING CODES:

ATD - at the doctor.
BFF - best friend fell.
BTW - bring the wheelchair.
FWIW - forgot where I was.
GHA - got heartburn again.
IMHO - is my hearing aid on?
OMMR - on my massage recliner.
ROFLACGU - rolling on floor laughing and can't get up.
TTYL - talk to you louder!

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Package Gift Card

Hi There Everyone,

The Outlawz had an interesting challenge for their POM challenge this week.

The challenge was to create your own Patterend Paper. You know how we all have those package of papers that we keep buying more and more of. Well this was a chance to make your own.

I used my smeared pigments technique. Then I used a roller wheel to add the holly and embossed it in Emerald Pearluster by Stampendous. I also used an embossing pen to add the lines and embossed them.

After I looked at my background I created I thought of Christmas wrapping paper. So I decided to make a square card and make it look like a Christmas package.

My tag is a Paper Trey Ink stamp and die cutter. The twill Happy Holidays ribbon is some that I purchased at Big Lots. It is really pretty and it is the first time I have really had a project that I thought it looked good on. I love when they put their Christmas stuff out. They always have such pretty ribbons and the are the same ribbons that Michael's sell for $1.99 and Big Lots sells them for $1.00. The only thing is when you see it at Big Lots get it then. You can almost be 100% positive that it won't be there the next time. LOL

Thanks for stopping by.

Peeking Through the Fence

Good Afternoon,

We have a nice rainy day here. Oh but never fear the humidity is still with us making it a very muggy rainy day. Oh well I guess we have to take what we can get.

Here is another card using the Peekers 2 set. These are just some fun stamps to use.

I used an old Stampin Up grass stamp to add a little more into the bottom. I also used my cloud template but they sure did show up on the pictures. Guess I need to go a little darker ink. LOL

She is colored with my Copics. I added a little stickles to the waistband, ponytail holder and the flowers. The larger flower I tapped a little purple ink on it and then spritz it with some homemade shimmer mist it which allowed the ink to spread a little and give it a nice color.

This card is using a sketch for The Outlawz challenge this week.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Finally Colored Black Hair and Gold Clothing

Hi Again,

Well I finally took the plunge and colored black hair. I think it came out pretty good. And I colored "gold" with my Copics thanks to Suzanne Dean's Video on coloring gold. I think the gold came out pretty good as well. I added some clear Atyou Spica pen to the outfit to give it more shimmer.

I have to tell you at first I did not like the Atyou Spica pen. It just didn't flow it took more effort than it was worth. I kept reading everyone raving about these so I took another chance and order another one thinking maybe the one I got was defective. Must have been the case. The new one works great. No effort at all. Will I give up my Gelly Roll stardust clear. Nope. I love them too.

The card is for a challenge on the CMC site under the new Bookendz group. The theme was something Asian. This image is another by Sureya

The funny thing is I had no real Asian type of stamps other than an Hero Arts Newspaper Wordprint. Again other oldy moldy stamp back for 1999. But for some reason I had some Asian types of paper. So I used that. I also broke out a couple other old products. I had this sealing wax for years as well as the little metal stamp. So I melted it and made the little medallion. (warning I forgot how easy that stuff will break.) I also pulled out this metallic cord. I can't remember the name off the top of my head . Think it started with an M.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Oh look Mom's pocketbook

Happy Wednesday,

Half way through the week. Getting closer to the weekend. Anyone doing anything special?

This is what I need to find a pocketbooks with money in it. LOL

This is one of the new Peeker's set by Elizabeth Bell and sold only through SCACD. These stamps are so cute. This is the second set of these stamps. I have to say I am the proud owner of both sets.

She is colored with Copics. I paper pieced the pocketbooks to match the DP. I added some ribbon to give some texture. A nestie was used to give the scallop frame around the image.

Some Stickles was added to here headband and skirt for some sparkle.

I wasn't too sure about these colors and this stamp but I think it came out pretty good.

I am entering this into The Outlawz weekly color challenge - Lime Green, Lemon Yellow and Crisp White. Makes you want to make a drink huh.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Birthday Balloon

Hi There Everyone,

Hope everybody is doing well. Rather quiet day today. I did get to make a few cards today. This is one of them. Well really I finished up the card today. The glossy accents was taking forever to dry yesterday.

This image is an old Penny Black stamps. I think the date on the stamp was 2000 so I am not sure they even still make this stamp.

I just think it is so cute. I have colored the hedgehog with my Copics. The balloon has glossy accents on it to give it shine.

The DP is by Fancy Pants from their celebrate collection.

The Happy Birthday stamp is a Studio G stamp. Those little $1 sets come in handy.

I am entering this into two challenges today.

The Outlawz Monday Greeting Challenge - Must have a balloon.

The CMC bi monthly challenge using Aqua, Red and White

I hope you enjoy the card today and thank you for stopping by.

Sweet Treat

Hello and Happy Monday,

Well it is the start of another hot week around my way. I am so ready for fall.

Hopefully little Lacy with her ice cream cone will help you think of coolness.

This is one of my favorite images from Mo's Digital Pencil.

She is colored with Copics. A nestie was used for the frame around her.
The butterflies are some bling that I had . The Celebrate is a sticker that I think came in a magazine I had bought.

I added a little stickles to the swirl that I cut with my Slice.

I am entering this into Mo's Weekly Challenge. This week something sweet or food related.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Simple Christmas

I'm Back. Hope everyone has had a nice weekend.

I am back with another Christmas card. This is a very simple card. But I think it makes a statement. Well at least I hope it does. LOL It is also one of those cards that you can make lots of really quickly.

This is a Stampin Up roller stamp. I have embossed with Judi Kins embossing powder.

I made two score lines on top and bottom of the stamp just to set it off. It is layered on some gold cardstock then green.

The embossing really picks up the colors of the card in person but not so much on the camera.

This is for The Outlawz Sunday Challenge. It is their CAS challenge and it was for Christmas in July.

Ok this is my last post for July. Hope every one's Monday starts the week off great.
